Signs to Change Two-Wheeler Tyres: Don't Ignore These 3

Tyres can lose their quality due to many reasons such as mechanical issues. These may be caused due to worn-out shock absorbers or an issue with the wheel alignment. Furthermore, due to daily commutes, the treads of the tyre can degrade making it difficult to steer the bike. Because of its wear and tear, the braking time also increases and traction reduces. Tyres degrade over time and get prone to repairs.

Remember not to use tyres which are more than 5 years old. If you want to change your scooter tyres choose tubeless ones that you can find at good prices. Read the following to learn about when to change the tyres of your two-wheelers:

1. Excessive tread wear

Check for apparent tread wear signs to see if you should replace your tubeless tyres. You can check the tyre wear indicator on the sidewall as marked by the tyre manufacturers. It is an arrow sign used to indicate the extent of the wear. To check the tread depths, you can use tread gauges which lets you get the exact measurement of the tyre thickness.

2. Tyre age

The number of kilometres that you have covered with the same tyres and the duration for which you have been using them determines the age of the tyre. If one wants to maintain the quality of a tyre one must store it well and upkeep its condition. Although there is no set age limit for tyres, you can change them every 3-5 years after the manufacturing date.

3. Tyre air pressure

If you see any unforeseen drop in the air pressure of the tyre, it is time to change it as it indicates a weak tyre. A tyre can become weak due to several reasons such as damage, air leaks, hidden cracks, or due to an old valve stem. You need to change your tyre if it keeps losing its even after all the punctures are repaired this is because it has probably become weak.

If you see irregular wear and tear signs on the tyre change the tyres for your safety on the road and drive safely.
